Women In Enterprise Raise Over £8000 To Support Local Women and Girls in Milton Keynes
Women in Enterprise (WIE) is not just a not-for-profit networking group; it's a beacon of support, empowerment, and community for women in Milton Keynes.
For nearly 40 years, WIE has been championing the vast contributions of women in business, but their dedication goes even further.
By using their ever-growing network of committed members, the longest-running networking group in Milton Keynes is able to give back to its local community, investing in the futures of aspiring women and girls across MK.
This commitment can be seen annually through their regular support for the Women's Fund at Milton Keynes Community Foundation (MKCF).
The Women's Fund is a vital source of support for charities and projects dedicated to supporting women and girls in Milton Keynes. As the main donor to the Women's Fund, aside from ad hoc contributions, WIE's commitment to this cause cannot be understated.
Their partnership with MKCF spans many years, marked by annual fundraising donations and active collaboration in International Women's Day (IWD) celebrations in MK.
In 2024, WIE, in partnership with NatWest and MKCF, organised an IWD event that surpassed all expectations and went on to be the largest celebration we have seen in the city. With over 400 attendees and inspiring guest speakers, the day was incredibly successful and highlighted the power of inspiring inclusion.
Through sponsorship and fundraising efforts, the event raised an amazing total of £4217 for the Women’s Fund. But WIE's dedication doesn't stop there.
Despite being a volunteer-led organisation, they have consistently increased their annual donation, reaching £4000 in the past year alone. This achievement truly reflects the passion and commitment of every member of WIE.
Their regular support for the Women's Fund perfectly captures the group’s ethos of creating opportunities and proving support for women and girls of all backgrounds.
