MK SNAP - SNAP Enterprises

MK SNAP is a local charity who work within the local community to develop work-skills, work-experiences and opportunities for work. The SNAP Enterprises that they build are at the heart of the learners’ education and skill-building for a better, brighter future and the project will create life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

COVID19 forced SNAP MK to close the doors of their centre, having a huge impact on the learners they support. They were stripped of their life-affirming routines along with their personalised skill-building and work preparation sessions in the Enterprise project. The impact was a loss of production and sales across the horticulture, handmade crafts and canvas artwork enterprises. It also saw the loss of visitors to the centre and the cancellation of events, all devastating for funding the charity. 

MK SNAP were able to re-open their community café and re-build the SNAP Enterprises which are at the heart of the learners’ education and skill-building for a better, brighter future. SNAP Enterprises create life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities and so the impact of having the funding to support the project is immeasurable. Over sixty per cent of pre-pandemic learners have now returned to the centre with more returning each week.

Our mission is to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those who live in our community. We do that by giving grants to the charities working on the ground, the charities that work hard to make change happen.
