Dedicated to supporting vulnerable people in your community this winter
With the end of furlough and the removal of the Universal Credit uplift payment during the COVID-19 pandemic, this season will be even more challenging for so many.
On top of this, soaring energy prices mean that as the temperature starts to fall during the winter months, many people in Milton Keynes will be forced to choose between heating and eating.
No individual or family should have to make this impossible choice.
With your kindness we can help some of the most vulnerable people in our community to stay warm, safe and well this winter.
You can lend your support to this vital campaign by:
- Donating your winter fuel payment
- Making a one-off donation
Please help us have a positive impact this winter.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of local people, we awarded a grant to Winter Night Shelter MK, who work hard to support the homeless community in Milton Keynes.
Usually, they arrange emergency overnight shelter between November and March in community halls and churches, but because of social distancing restrictions, they were unable to do so.
The grant awarded meant they could pay for emergency hotel rooms on the coldest nights and provide winter survival kits for those that have no choice but to sleep on the streets, as well as benefit from the support of a Welfare Manager to ensure they had what they needed.
These life saving measures were made available because of the generous donations of our supporters and the tireless work of Winter Night Shelter.
One guest said “You’re the only person I’ve seen face to face for help in weeks. I really struggle with filling in forms and trying to get hold of people by phone, I don’t know what I’d do without your help.”
This winter is no different.
Vulnerable people still need your support.
