Statement – Re-Use
MK Community Foundation is a leading grant-making charity, sending funding where it’s needed most in the local community. Through our range of grant programmes and philanthropic initiatives, we’re proud to provide support that helps make Milton Keynes a better place to live and work for thousands of people.
Over the past 35 years, the Community Foundation have supported local charities with over £18m in rent subsidies and £15m in grant programmes. In 2021, we awarded £1.6m in grants to help and support local charitable organisations to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It goes without saying the Community Foundation recognises the economic pressures being felt by many organisations. As part of our responsibility to our donors, all rent subsidies are assessed and reviewed regularly to ensure that the organisations meet our due diligence and eligibility criteria. Re-Use have been awarded a rent subsidy for the last 7 years, in support of their community causes. Unfortunately, at this time, they have not been successful in their re-application.
Our commitment to the community continues. There are 47 charitable and voluntary organisations who are currently awarded rent subsidies, totalling over £1.2m this year. We will continue to fund life-changing projects across the city; We will support and inspire our next generation of philanthropists; We will expand and strengthen our volunteering programme and continue to guide businesses, philanthropists and charities to the right giving and grants.
