Who are York House Centre and what do they do?
York House Centre is a well-used youth, community and arts centre based in Stony Stratford.
It’s a place where the local community comes together, where ideas are inspired, creative potential is discovered and new skills are grown.
They facilitate a wide variety of inclusive activities to improve the lives of the people, both residents and businesses, of Stony Stratford and the surrounding areas.
What support did York House Centre need?
York House Centre wanted to build an accessible path into the community gardens, so that all members of the community could access the fantastic facility.
This permanent first step was an important stepping stone for the organisation's future plans.
As work ramps up in the community gardens, voluntary groups will be growing vegetables for the foodbank and the orchard will be developed into a multi-use area, available for a forest school and a mindfulness space.

What difference did our MK Community Foundation grant make?
Everyone now has access to the community gardens and that will make a difference for many for years to come.
As new projects are developed, everyone will be able to experience, and be part of, the wonderful community facility bringing people together in a peaceful location that is very special.
The best thing about the path is that the opportunities are endless and inline with York House Centre’s core value of serving and nurturing the community.
