We would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who took part in the Extra Mile Challenge last year! We were delighted to welcome Martin Banham-Hall from one of the sponsors Heald Solicitors LLP to Acorn House to present MK Community Foundation with the £6,600 giant cheque.
About the Extra Mile Challenge
The challenging is for teams of 4 to ride a spectacular 500-mile route, in relay, mostly on minor roads. Each cyclist covers about 45 miles per day, typically in 4 or 5 stages.
Get involved with the next challenge and raise money for your favourite charity
You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist or athlete to take part, but you’ll need to be reasonably fit, so start training now! Those particularly keen could cycle in pairs and increase mileage!
75% of your team’s sponsorship goes to the charity of your choice. The remainder (plus all gift aid claimed) goes to three others chosen by the Organisers and to Rotary charitable funds. The first 13 Extra Mile Challenges have raised over £1.25m for charities. As in prior years, each team must raise a minimum of £1,200 sponsorship by 20 December 2017 as a condition of entry.
Thank you to the partners in this event: Agria Pet Insurance (Aylesbury), Axis Electronics (Bedford), Big Rock Climbing Centre (Milton Keynes), Clydesdale Ltd (Kempston, Beds), Delomac Roofing (Kempston, Beds), Heald Solicitors (Milton Keynes), Rotary Clubs of Bedford Park and Milton Keynes Grand Union.
